About you

Previous experience of lighting design is preferred but is not essential. We encourage our designers to seek inspiration from all aspects of design. We encourage brave, innovative thinking and a collaborative approach.

You must be able to hand sketch and should be an experienced user of Photoshop, Relux / Dialux or similar, AutoCAD, Revit and a current 3D software package.

All applications must include a covering email or letter, CV and examples of work that demonstrate your thinking, your visual communication skills and your passion for light.

Portfolios must include at least one example of the following:

  • Hand sketch
  • Photoshop render or collage
  • Creative Idea Development
  • Technical detail drawing in AutoCAD or similar

Intermediate / Senior Lighting Designer

We are looking for a self-motivated and creative Intermediate/Senior Lighting Designer to join our studio in London. 

The role requires an enthusiastic approach to being part of a design team delivering lighting schemes through each stage from concept to completion. 

Responsibilities would include (but are not limited to): Prepare concept sketch proposals and mood boards, produce AutoCAD layouts, specifications and schedules, budgets and attend site visits. This is a great opportunity to contribute creatively, grow and develop within the practice.

Applicants need to have 2+ years lighting design experience, excellent communication skills and be proficient in a range of software: AutoCAD, Dialux, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office.

Lighting Designer

Into Lighting [www.into.co.uk] is an award-winning multidisciplinary lighting design consultancy with over 35 years of experience working with talented architects, interior designers and clients. Our experience covers all types and scale of projects from hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and cinemas, to retail flagships and rollouts, spas, car showrooms, airports, museums and corporate headquarters. Due to continued new business development, along with a secure client base both in the UK and internationally, we are currently looking to further expand our design team based in London.

Lighting Designer – London [Part London office based, part hybrid weekly working days]

You will have a minimum of one or two years of experience working as a Lighting Designer either at an independent lighting design consultancy or in-house for a lighting manufacturer. You are now looking to further your career, take greater responsibility and use your creativity to drive projects. As well as creative and technical skills, you will need extensive knowledge of relevant software packages including AutoCAD, DIALux Evo / Relux lighting calculation software, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Excel. This should be clearly illustrated in your CV or portfolio. Lighting Designers will work within a team, but should have the ability to run some projects from inception to completion themselves. Designers should ideally have some experience of working on projects in the retail, leisure and workplace sectors. We are offering a highly competitive remuneration package, commensurate with experience.

Excellent written and spoken English is essential. UK Resident/ UK Work Permit/Visa required for this role.

Requirements

5 to 8 years’ experience in lighting design.

Lighting Designers:

Description

Supports the work of 1 or more team members, complete assigned design tasks and meet deadlines.
Assessing specific project needs and communicating effectively to the project team leader.
Manage own work time and priorities and show ability to also do this with the project team.
Position can be in Beijing office or remotely.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or above in lighting design or architecture or interior design or related education and experience.
2 to 4 years’ experience in lighting design.
Certification in Lighting design or certification related to architecture / design.
Computer programs: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Photoshop, Dialux EVO,Enscape, D5, AutoCAD, Lumio, AGI, 3Ds Max, SKetch Up, Daysim, Rhino.
Ability to prioritize/time management skills.

Senior Associates – Associates – Senior Lighting Designers – Lighting Designers – Oxfordshire, London and Dubai Studios

We are looking for creative and technically knowledgeable Senior Associates, Associates, Senior Lighting Designers and Lighting Designers to join our studios in Oxfordshire, London, and Dubai. Excellent written and spoken English is essential.

Senior Associates – Associates – Senior Lighting Designers – Lighting Designers:

Responsibilities would include, working within a team environment on all aspects of the lighting design process, from concept to completion, attending design and site meetings in the UK or UAE and overseas, as well as supervising the work of lighting designers within the studio. Candidates should have a strong portfolio of completed exterior and interior projects. IT skills must include Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop and DIALux. Knowledge of BIM/Revit would be beneficial but not essential.

Only applicants with professional independent lighting design experience will be considered.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and includes bonus opportunities. The Dubai position enjoys a tax free environment subject to personal taxation circumstances.

Senior Lighting Designer and Lighting Designer

Our projects are almost exclusively very high-end residential and super yachts. We work internationally on some of the largest, most complex and incredible homes and yachts in the world. Alongside internationally recognised architects, yacht designers and interior designers. Due to the privacy of our work, most go unseen in the public realm. Projects may range from a private car museum to a 180-meter super yacht. Attention to detail and creating the most beautiful spaces are the driving factors in our projects.

 Our creative designers role is to inspire our clients with beautiful concepts and then help bring those ideas to reality through the production of high-quality design information and excellent communication. With the support of our technical design team and project managers. The right candidate will need to be passionate about lighting and design, show very high attention to detail and importantly have good creative flair.

 You will be working alongside our established creative designers both in our Lambeth based Creative design team as well as with our technical lighting design team and our project managers. Projects are international and so some travel is to be expected. The role will be hybrid office and working from home. Although for the initial probation period we would expect a high level of office based work with colleagues to ensure a good introduction and interface with the team. Our design studio is based in Lambeth, with a head office in Kent, an experience centre on Great Portland Street, and Monaco.

 Candidates must have a good working knowledge of  AutoCAD, Photoshop and Dialux. IT equipment/laptop provided by the company. Competitive Salary and benefits packages are available, dependent on the successful candidate’s individual experience.

Dark Source Reflections - The Vessel

The Vessel is a charity project developed in collaboration with the Vessel UK, Daughters of Africa Foundation and Dark Source. The project was focused on training 30 local electricians in Gambia about lighting design and solar energy to increase their employment potential. Following the technical training, the project was finalised with the practical installation of the solar-based lighting scheme at the community library in Abuko. The aim of the project was to improve the studying experience of the students, while eliminating the power cuts and costs indefinitely.
