LEDucation cancels for 2020

23rd April 2020

(USA) – The show, initially postponed from March until August, will next take place in 2021.

The Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY) and the LEDucation committee has announced that the LEDucation 2020 Trade Show and Conference, previously scheduled for August 18-19 2020, will not take place, due to the ongoing impacts of Covid-19.

The event was initially due to take place on 17-18 March, but was postponed until August earlier this year, as the Covid-19 pandemic began to take hold. The next edition of the event will now take place on March 16-17 at the New York Hilton Midtown, pending improved conditions.

“Due to the continuing impacts surrounding Covid-19, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel LEDucation 2020,” said LEDucation Co-Chairs Burt Grant and Caroline Rinker. “We are disappointed that we are unable to hold LEDucation 2020 for the lighting community. However, the health and welfare of our exhibitors and attendees is our top priority, and we feel that this is the right decision based on the information we have today.

“Our thoughts remain with those who have been directly affected by the virus, and to all those who are struggling with the ramifications of this health crisis.”

Francesca Bastianini, President of the DLFNY, added: “We are faced with an unprecedented level of uncertainty for what will occur in the coming months, and this decision will allow us to come together again when there is more clarity regarding our collective health.

“We look forward to when we can join with you all again in person to share in the news and innovation from the industry, its practitioners, and our community.”
