(Germany) – Luminale Festival was scheduled to take place during Light+Building this March

Due to the Covid-19 virus, Luminale 2020, initially due to take place during Light+Building this March, had to be cancelled shortly before opening.

However, the festival organisers have since unveiled #LuminaleDigital – an online platform where visitors can go on a virtual tour of this year’s installations.

“Over the last 18 months, Luminale 2020 was planned with passion and dedication, actively supported by numerous stakeholders and eagerly awaited by many visitors,” reads a statement from festival organisers. “All festival productions were completed as planned for the opening day of the event, when the festival had to be cancelled at very short notice due to the current situation.

“Even though the Luminale was not able to light up the cities of Frankfurt and Offenbach this year, the light festival is now offering a virtual view of countless light-art works and installations under the hashtag #luminaledigital.”

The installations are available to view on the Luminale website.
