SNLL hosts The Path to Sustainable Lighting Event

19th July 2023

(UK) – SLL is hosting The Path to Sustainable Lighting on Tuesday 15 August, both online and in person at Edinburgh’s Napier University. The aim of this event is to learn about how to recognise and quantify the circularity of lighting products together with how to increase their service life. The presentation will take a deep dive into metrics used to quantify the environmental impact of luminaires.

Presented by Stoane Lighting’s Ruairidh McGlynn, Dr. Irene Mazzei, and SLL Vice President Kristina Allison, the event will explore lighting’s role in the climate emergency and how a shift towards more sustainable lighting products will bring important benefits to the environment.

The talk will consist of discussions on the circular economy and how maintaining a product’s value for as long as possible is quintessential. Making sure the environmental impact of each life-cycle stage of a product is unequivocally quantified and kept at its minimum, and how this can be implemented by designers and manufacturers to meet the needs of low impact luminaire production.

Booking is now open and free to attend.
