Roberta Silva appointed as CEO of Flos
(Italy) - Silva joins as CEO following the departure of Piero Gandini.
Design Holding has announced the appointment of Roberta Silva as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Flos.
Silva was selected in the past few months by the Group’s shareholders, together with former CEO Piero Gandini. Her appointment is part of the efforts of Design Holding and its subsidiaries to further strengthen their management teams, by recruiting managers with a high international profile and able to contribute to the growth of the Group led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gabriele Del Torchio.
In her role as the CEO of Flos, Silva's task will be to carry forward the brand’s strong identity and history of excellence, whilst guiding the company into a new phase of growth that will enable it to successfully address the ongoing changes in the sector and the challenges of an increasingly global marketplace.
Roberta was previously the Italian Country Manager of Bose. After successfully fulfilling this role, she was promoted to an international role, as Head of Bose’s Global Direct Retail Network. She left Bose after having led the company into a new phase of strategic commercial development and brand enhancement. Prior to Bose, Roberta had senior roles at the Kraft Group.
Maurice Spee appointed Chair of Recolight Board of Directors
(UK) - Spee, who has been with Signify for nearly 20 years, replaces Martin De Jager, who is retiring from the Recolight and Signify board.
Recolight has announced the appointment of Maurice Spee from Signify as Chair of the Recolight Board of Directors
Spee, Director for Collection & Recycling at Signify, has been with the company for nearly 20 years. He has substantial experience in WEEE across a number of European countries and sits on the board of several other European WEEE compliance schemes. Spee replaces Martin De Jager of Signify, who is retiring from Signify and the Recolight board.
Spee commented: “I am delighted to be joining the Recolight board. The company is entering an exciting new phase in its growth, as domestic luminaires came into scope at the beginning of 2019. I look forward to contributing to Recolight as the company responds to the challenge of the expanded scope.”
Chief Executive of Recolight, Nigel Harvey, said: “Recolight are pleased to welcome Maurice Spee to the board as chair. His knowledge of lighting and WEEE across Europe is invaluable to us. His experience will support the growth of Recolight, and the standards on which our reputation is based. The board is grateful for the support of Martin De Jager who has served on the Recolight board for over eight years."
Other directors of Recolight include Andreas Adam, Senior Director of LEDVANCE, who joined in 2016, Bridget Anderson, Financial Controller of Feilo Sylvania, who joined in 2014, and Glen Christie, Product Line Leader of Tungsram who joined in 2018.
Molto Luce Volare R
Volare R is an extension of the Molto Luce Volare power rail system. The minimalist 230V 2-stage rail, at 18x18mm, can now be integrated into the ceiling using a recessed profile. At a width of 32mm, the framed version is barely visible in the ceiling. There is also a frameless version at only 24mm that emphasises the minimalist design. Thanks to the shape of the profile, the magnetically attached Volare rails and the lighting adapter completely disappear into the ceiling.
